Nigel Tai
Diamond Schmitt Architects Senior Associate
Nigel Tai is a Senior Associate with Diamond Schmitt Architects. He is a licensed member of the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, a Certified Passive House Designer, a LEED Accredited Professional and a LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Professional.
With over 15 years of experience, Nigel has worked on a wide range of projects and building types: urban and campus master planning, complex institutional buildings, community centre, fire station, condominiums, student residence, performing art centre, laboratory, and animal hospital. He is the project architect for the recently completed Trafalgar Park Revitalization in Oakville, the 1st municipal IPD project in Ontario; and the UTSC Environmental Science and Chemistry Building, winner of the 2018 CaGBC SABMag Green Building Award.
In addition, Nigel engages actively in public speaking to promote sustainable design ideas. He was named in 2018 to the inaugural Burlington Urban Design Advisory Panel.
